Bayer MaterialScience has added the distributor Mito polimeri s.r.l. to its list partners for the sale of its high-performance plastics in Italy. The company has assumed the distribution activities previously performed by Bayer MaterialScience's long-standing partners Mercatali s.r.l. (since 1973) and Mida s.r.l. (since 1978). The sales partnership is focused primarily on the Bayer products Makrolon (PC), Apec (PC-HT), Bayblend (PC/ABS), Makroblend (PC/PBT), Desmopan (TPU) and Texin (TPU).

Italy is an attractive market for a number of segments, including automotive and electronic articles, plus household goods, sports and leisure products and consumer goods. Bayer MaterialScience considers the partnership with Mito polimeri s.r.l. as a key factor for its long-term success in these markets.

The products will continue to be distributed directly in Italy, and existing distribution partnerships will remain intact.
